Gainsborough House is situated within easy walking distace of the seafront and it is close to major bus routes within the Portsmouth area.

Portsmouth also has a very well linked ferry port which is approximately 10 minutes by car from Gainsborough House. Ferries arrive at Portsmouth from Caen, St Malo, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Jersey, Geurnsey and Bilbao.
